Chennai flood: Survival tips

If you're from Chennai and you can read this blog, that means you're one of those who probably live in apartments. You are among the luckier Chennaite. And you can help yourself & others. Please take my tips into account. These might help you survive this crisis and enable you to be self-sustaining so that flood relief materials can be directed to those who need them the most.

Flood Survival Tips:

  1. Do not wait for water to rise to leave your floor. Early movers will have time to plan and collect resources to fight this crisis. Immediately go to the top floor flats and request accommodation for everyone in the building. Those of you who are at top floor, please accommodate everyone. Your home has more capacity to shelter others in need than you think AND your heart is bigger.
  2. Take everyone from your apartment to top floor. Don't leave anyone. Crisis can only be survived in collaboration.
  3. If flats at top floor are closed and you don't have contact with the flat owners then don't hesitate to break the door-locks. The flat owners will understand this crisis situations.
  4. Starting from lowest floor, start taking the following items to the top floor-
    1. Take all food items - veggies, cereals, biscuits, junk food, chocolates, dairy stuff, instant food, tea, coffee, fruits and juices....anything & everything eatable, drinkable and cook-able. This collective food supply can help all your apartment fellows survive for months. This crisis will not stay for long, but it's nice to be proactively prepared.
    2. Put all these food items in all the buckets available in each flats. Buckets can save you later in many ways. Don't leave even one. Even the toilet bucket is essential.
    3. Take all the gas cylinders. I know this is tough as lifts don't work. But together you can achieve this.
    4. Take matchbox, lighters, candles, agarbatti, Diwali diyas, oil of all kinds, camphor and everything ignitable. If you have paperweight stones...take them too as last resort for producing fire.
    5. Take all bed-sheets, pillows, cushions, curtains, blankets. You might just need all of them while helping others. Pillows and cushions are multipurpose. You might be surprised while using them.
    6. Take all essential items like torch, battery, ropes, medicines, first-aid-kits, soaps, toothpastes, knives, scissors, hammers, nails, saw, tool-kits, radios, phones, laptops, wireless internet connections, tapes, wires, plastic bags/covers, car/bikes cover, raincoats, umbrellas, needles & threads, plaster of Paris, m-seal, air fresheners, deo, scents etc. Big help in crisis situations. Take these in bed-sheets & bags.
    7. Also take as many clothes in bed-sheets & bags as possible. These will help - if not for wearing then for burning, sealing or stuffing.
    8. Got more time? Take books, cartons, wooden items that can be used for sealing the water out and burning as last resort.
    9. If anyone has sound box and mics with battery... Take that too. Don't forget to take battery from kid's toys.
    10. Take everything you think as helpful and store at top floor. Try to store things in cupboards, storage beds etc to keep them dry as the top floor can have water leakage problem. If time, space and body-strength permits then bring more storage units from other floor flats. You can also use plastic bags to keep things dry.
  5. Cook & eat wisely. Do not eat 3 times meal and 2 times snacks. We are in crisis. Eat only to sustain. Give preference to kids and elders. Young people like you can survive on just two times mini-meals and strength of your will-power.
  6. Save gas. Do not cook time taking dishes. Believe in instant, half cooked and raw food for a change. Do not cook verity food. All can eat survival food. Cook adequate amount for the whole day in one go. Again, save gas.
  7. Do not take bath from tap water. Nature is giving rain water for that. Let tap water be used for drinking and cooking. Use buckets to get rain water from roof/balcony to bathroom.
  8. Don't flush toilets either. Save that water. Carry flood water from downstairs for that. You can use rope and bucket to create a well-like structure near your staircase and fetch water using your muscle-power. This personal exercise will keep you physically active, mentality engaged and worry free.
  9. Use buckets to harvest rain water at roof which can be alternative to drinking, cooking and bathing water. Also good for washing dishes and utensils after food. If tap water stops, use rain water for drinking. Even though rain water is said to be pure, if you are not satisfied then boil this water and use 10 fold cotton cloth (may be bed-sheets) to filter it. The water will become pure enough. Don't over-boil water. Save gas.
  10. If there is roof leakage then use plaster of Paris and m-seal to stop leakage. If you don't have these things then use buckets to store leaking water. You can also stitch plastic together and save essential items from getting wet. Try to keep floor dry so that everyone doesn't have to sit and sleep on water.
  11. To stop rain water coming from roof entrance door by building a bar high enough. Use wood, hammer & nails and saw. Seal it with cartons and plastic. Don't block the whole door as you need to get buckets with rain water in and out from that door too.
  12. To prevent rain water from storing on the roof, break a few holes in roof boundary using hammer and other sharp tools from toolkit. Also try to create a landscape using cartons and other stuff to direct water flow away from roof door and towards boundary holes.
  13. Use cartons, curtains and plastic bags to stop water from entering flats through windows.
  14. If toilet starts overflowing, stuff clothes and other hard but unnecessary things into it to seal it. After that, use plastic bags for potty and keep them in the remote corner of roof or bury in earthen pot containing soil. Don't throw potty in flood water. That will cause after-flood hazards and illness.
  15. Take turns in sleeping. Everyone should not sleep at the same time. People should work and keep watch round the clock. Also, if people change their sleeping cycle, their nature's call time also changes. There won't be rush at toilets in the morning in this way. Sleeping space will also be utilized better.
  16. Do keep an eye on kids, they might try going downstairs to play or out of curiosity. Don't shout on them. They are innocent and already frightened.
  17. Use mics for announcing that you can help others if they reach your building. Also, pass on survival tips to other building around you using mic and speaker. If you don't have
  18. Use ropes to pull floating people up to your roof or balcony.
  19. Help others. Your food will not get finished if they eat a little.
  20. If you have an engineer in the apartment, use his/her knowledge of science to generate electricity. Use thunderstorm, wind and water flow for this. I think everyone studied about electricity generation from kite, wind mill and turbine.
  21. Do not waste laptop battery in watching movies or other entertainments.
  22. Align buckets on roof to form X or + sign. This will indicate to helicopters with food supply that you are self-sustaining building and you don't need relief materials. Better direct it to those who need it more.
  23. Be cheerful so that others don't get low. Together you will survive and be proud of it.
We hope the situations better but we have to be equipped for the worst, God forbid.

Please share it so that more and more people know these tips and get benefited.

Do you know Haiti?

The Hurricane Sandy has done its share of disasters. It is sad. Many people lost their lives, many lost their life savings...now they are left with no homes. You must be thinking that it happened to a rich country. They have a lot of money in their bank accounts. This is not going to shatter USA. May be. I don't wanna say anything about USA here but there are more people half a globe away that have suffered. They have gone through heart wrecking crisis. Those we don't know. We even have not heard the names of their countries. I was also as unaware as you all some time back. Before this Sandy hit America.

I was working on my company's latest CSR initiative - Proud Errors. The web-based app shows world-wide charitable causes on the error pages of your website. While browsing through the charitable causes, I came across a number of causes seeking help for building home, feeding children, providing healthcare, empowering women, providing jobs etc. for people in Haiti. Ever heard of Haiti? Never did I before. I though it might be an African country, some tribe may be. Didn't bother to browse further. It was only when I was browsing about Hurricane Sandy, that I came to know Haiti is again hit. My God! It is not an African country. Republic of Haiti is a Caribbean country near the cost of America. OK  to be precise, it is near to Cuba...now don't tell me you don't know Cuba!
Haiti is a very important Caribbean country. It was the 1st Latin American country to become independent, 1st black-led republic, 2nd country to attain independence as a part of successful slave revolution. French is the official language there. Even after such advantages Haiti is the poorest American country, thanks to political and natural turbulence. The tragedy is, this small country and its neighbors on tiny islands are hit again and again, one disaster after another. Countless earthquakes. Before they could recover from the last one, a new one destroyed whatever was build with help of others. This time a hurricane. Those living in temporary camps due to earthquake in 2010 don't even have those camps now. The situation is what I call absolutely heart-wrecking!

You must be thinking....what can we do? We are half a globe away from them. Those who are nearer should go and help.  Yeh! Right....it is not your duty...why should you even move an eyebrow, forget donating to those NGOs that are trying to help them? Why should you even talk about it on social media? Not that your family/friends in USA can get aware about this and try to help! Not that anyone you know is in capacity to help! You are wasting your time reading this piece of junk....

but hey....it's JUNK but RIGHT!!!

Amazing Answer!

One evening, I was just going through Star-Dust (yeh…the same famous bollywood magazine that has lots of pics of celebz and gossips about their personal lives). I don’t own such magazines coz its expensive indulgence…and according to many people, a useless time-killer. “…there are better books which are still unread…”. So this one, I happened to borrow from my friend who has a great collection of the likes of Star-Dust and Cosmopolitan. I was even using her hostel-room as a library, but I wasn’t alone in such utilization of available resource. Another friend was doing the same out of her boredom. Her target was some other magazine from the same source…our Library of time-killer. As this Library had a non-silence rule, we were sharing gossips and commenting on pics and clothes and lives. I brought on the table an ad which casted a cute milky-white baby. "Kitna cute baby hai yaar…dekho”, I said. The response that I got from my partner in time(killing) is worth sharing!

She said “Mera hoga tab dekhna…iss se bhi sundar hoga!!!”

A unique reply indeed :)

P.S.: All names have been intentionally not mentioned. Any person capable of recognizing the characters in this incident is urged NOT to share it with rest of the world.

So Wassup?

“So Wassup?”

An FAQ that becomes very irritating over a period of time.

If everyday the same person asks you Wassup (even with different spellings on chat), it becomes monotonous. The reason is…it’s an open question. Answer can be anything…fan, roof, sky, sun, moon….or whatever crap's happening in life. Moreover, it fails to set direction to the upcoming conversation. The one who asks actually relaxes; he/she is out of trouble. The other soul is in a soup. Imagine yourself giving this answer everyday to a friend or a colleague! Man, its awful to be burdened with the responsibility of leading the conversation into an interesting, enlightening or entertaining fashion EVERY DAY. The fear of becoming a boring chit-chat buddy gives sleepless nights trying to figure out apt answer for this question, whenever asked next.

Now imagine, you are sick and tired of being the topic finder and one day you decide to ask that question before you are asked. “Hey Man….Wassup?”… and to your horror, the reply is..”Nothing much..Wassup with you?” That’s it !!! The question is fired back and you have to re-initiate the conversation. Tedious job.

I know you must be thinking…there are other FAQs for initiating conversation, why write about this one only? And why make a fuss about it? There’s has to be a way to ask about each others lives. Ye ye…righto! But you forgot…you are going through a Junk :P

Expectation leads to Frustration

When we look around, we find everyone being mean and selfish, never being sensitive to us and our feelings………………but what we forget is that we are one of those ‘everyone’ for someone else. Throughout the day and throughout the life, we just want someone to think about us, care for us; it’s irrelevant if we do the same or not. Why is this attitude within us?

It’s just because of something called “expectation”. This is the state of mind when people forget that future is an unknown ocean and we don’t own it. Anything can happen anytime. Then why to have expectation? May be because we all know expectation leads to frustration and we want to be frustrated. Seriously, it is not a matter of laughter. It is the hard truth. If we someday sit alone in out room (which we do when we had some hard feelings going on in the mind) and if then instead of cursing others we think over this issue, then we will get astonishing answers. We want to be frustrated! Otherwise what is the reason of moving towards frustration with each and every step of expectations? We all know it well, right??

We do this to ourselves intentionally and then cry over it. Instead of enjoying the beauty spread across us by ‘everyone’, we choose to set our hearts on fire…we choose to be sad. What a bunch of fools we are………

You must be thinking “What a piece of Junk”.......but still....…its Right :P

Back with a Letter

GOD!!!

I have been out of my blogging word for about 3 year??? Can't believe that I did such an injustice to my fans!

Anyways, your wait is over and I have decided to blog again. God save all....Amen!

Its not that I have been away for writing for such a duration, but sharing was filtered. Now, may I present a piece from my collection for you....

A girl was about to join an MBA institute. She asked her cousin, who was just going to finish her MBA, to give some tips on how to prepare for a good MBA life.

The following is the mail from big sis to little one, with all the gyan:

Dear sis,

I know you want to be prepared for the life in B-school before you reach there. Seeing your enthusiasm, I remembered the time when I was in your position. Now, that looks like a lost story in the book of my life. MBA is definitely a big change in a student’s life. The transaction can be difficult if you are not guided well, and then you will be left with regret of wasting so much time, just to figure out the ‘ideal way’ of being a really successful MBA. MBA is a challenge of a lifetime, and most-probably the last experience of a student-life. It could be hell if you don’t know how to go about. There are so many subjects and you have to do group and individual projects for each subject, hundreds of assignments and presentations, and on top of that, you need to pass the exams.

But don’t worry. That’s the time when you can take advantage of your big sister’s experience. I will tell you the secret of a good life at a b-school. You need to change some habits… in fact whole of your daily routine. Then life will be much easier. If you really want to be the best manager after your rigorous life in b-school, just follow the below said rules. Remember, these are not easy to do but you got to master them for this master’s degree.

  1. Smile, laugh and be friendly with everyone. Don’t talk bad about anyone to anyone, but listen everything like good friend. Keep your eyes and ears open.
  2. Never hesitate in giving your mobile no. even to boys. In fact, you should have the no. of all people, especially guys, of your batch. This helps in keeping track of who called you when and why.
  3. Your mobile should always have money, to contact anyone anytime.
  4. Keep your cell always charged and NEVER switch it off. Class can be at anytime on any day. There might not be a prior notice. Just an SMS will be there.
  5. NEVER take such offers in which all your SMS are free. You might end up being the SMS-girl of the batch.
  6. Keep the phone no.s of all your faculty as well. Who knows when you might get a call from any of them regarding assignment submission or rescheduling of class or the most important thing - exam portion!
  7. Never have any friction with any faculty. They have power regarding your marks in assignments, presentations and exam. They can also take revenge by not allowing you inside the class and cutting your attendance when you are late in their class (and that will happen often).
  8. Never be too close to any faculty. Other faculty might have problems or your classmates might get jealous and talk behind your back. There IS a possibility that the faculty you are near to might want to be known as impartial and hence might torture you in the same way as of a faculty with vengeance against you; just to keep his/ her image clean.
  9. If you are late for class, either have a good excuse or a broken leg/hand. You might even get away with a puppy face, depending on the nature of your faculty.
  10. The more a faculty talks in the class, the less a student should listen.
  11. Be attentive at the time of roll call.
  12. Be at home in the class. Eat, talk, read books or sleep…it's an art.
  13. Preferably sleep in class, so that you can keep awake at night to finish the assignments given in that class.
  14. Sincerely work on your assignments at night, after you are done with watching movies and playing games.
  15. If your movie finishes the next day, don’t worry! You can still work on your assignment before the class.
  16. If you don’t find time before the class, don’t worry! You can still finish it in the class.
  17. If you don’t find time in the class, don’t worry! You can give a late submission, if you give at all.
  18. Rule for doing individual assignment- wait till others are finished with it. Collect the assignments of the best-brains of the class or the best-copiers of the class and re-engineer them to manufacture your own assignment sheet. Caution- don’t copy line by line from the same person but make sure all that you write from different master-copies makes sense at the end.
  19. The best manager is the one who can efficiently delegate work to his/ her group members (preferably entirely, else take the easiest part).
  20. Best friends are the one who help you in need. Internet is a student’s best friend. It has a collection of PPTs and PDFs.
  21. A student is equivalent to a priest. Hostel room is like a temple. Books are like God, so pious. Do the BOOK-STHAPNA and then never touch them with your dirty hands.
  22. You can study with the help of either PPT or someone who is ready to teach. Find that alien “Jaadoo” in the form of student sooner than others to avail the 1st mover’s advantage.
  23. Do maximum utilization of resources. Avail all the leaves allowed to you in a semester. On top of it, use all the b-fest invitations.
  24. MBA is the period of attaining knowledge. Know all about movies, be it in any language. Use library for latest magazines. Keep yourself aware about what’s going on in campus with whom. These can make you famous and help in your own “PR”.
  25. ALWAYS be aware of notice board. Have some resources for attaining the latest developments from placement office. Don’t forget, your ultimate goal is to get a job.

I know, if you follow these, nobody can stop you to be best manager and a successful MBA. I am sure that you will do a good job. Best of luck!

With love,

Your sis.

Disclaimer: This is a fiction-based mail. Any relation with any particular b-school or any person living or dead is just a co-incidence.

And It Hurts..............

Sometimes people experiance a strange kindda trend.....................and itz not that trend which is affecting products in the business market.....................but itz affecting life.
There is an uncertainity...............but not of life & death or job security.............but of mood and smiles................and not just the smiles on face but the one that heart experiances. At one moment a person getz happy and then something other happens and the smile disappears. Thought there might be a (forced) smile on the face but..................

And how long can a person hide that unhappiness?? When others are there and u don't smile and talk, they will start inquaring "whatz wrong? Why r u not smiling/talking? What happened?"

How can you tell that when ur heart refuses to speak? How can you justify your silence when the words of heart never reach the lips? Itz not that easy...............for few.

But why does that happen? I don't know much about it but when I try to think, i feel that this heart of ours in very very delicate and extremely sensitive(atleast for those few for who I am writnig). A little of negligence hurts it and you know it pains alot...............even if the tears don't show, they are there!!!

Heart..................

Sometimes heart doesnot feel happy, don't know why..............it says in the supressed, chocked voice that we have made it...............but when it says itz not happy then it hurts like hell. Hardly ever thought about what it says, hardly ever heard those unspoken words, hardly ever let it have any opinion but still...........it is more powerful than any other thing in the world..............Trust it!

Sometimes I feel guilty

And not for not blogging frequently. Itz something else. I think I am not alone to get such a feeling but how many confess?? Atleast I do. Don't u?
Oh sorry, I forgot u can't answer as u don't have any clue what exactly I am talking about.

Let me tell u, u don't have any other go..............
I feel guilty that sometimes I talk bad about some people. Not any specific person, but in random, if I don't like something of someone.......it always ends up in me talking bad about that person.
AND I hate it later. Ofcourse I hate it...............coz deep down inside me, I know I don't hate that person. Leave alone hating.........I like everyone. Or may be I also Love everyone.............I don't know. But one thing is for sure, I don't like myself talking bad about anybody to anybody.....not even to myself.
Does that happen to you too? I don't know. But I am certainly interested in knowing what one can do if such a think happens?

A beautiful Day

This is a rare time of the year, not only for you all.........as you are going through another blog from my side.............but also for me. So much of adventure in just few days!! GOSH!!!!

This Saturday was a Trecking Day for us. A small bunch of 9 gals and 13 guys..........apart from 4 co-ordinators. This was most probably the first time I went trecking. And, this was nothing like walking on street. Infact WE REALLY CLIBMED A MOUNTAIN! And there was no path, thatz why we had so tough time with the thorny path. But never mind (coz you don't have mind.........he he he he), we enjoyed the cuts. First we crossed the muddy path. And did I tell you it was raining? Anyways, now you know, we had a walk in rain. Some person's feet getting stuck in mud, my sandle came out fortunatly. I washed my leg in the nearby stream. Then started the climbing path and then we were on ROCK only. In excitement, I became the only girl to climb that slippery path higher. When I looked back, there was nothing.............just the gehri khaai . Leaving all the excitement of being on the top, I satred thinking what a single slip can do? Seedhe Uppar Pahunch Jaate Boss .

But thanks to the sandles from @ction and my stupid dancing and high hills...............I safly got down. The fear disappeared as soon as I figured out the technique. On the way back, there was one guy who was, to my surprise, quiet. The one to be the 1st one to run for pics when we were going up didn't even turned to be seen in any pics while returning. My only expression was "What has happened with this guy?? Did something go wrong?"
It was the 1st time I talked to him. His reply was......."My Heart Doesn't Feel Happy". I tried to make him happy with my stupid talks (ok enough! I don't do that often), thinking in my mind how stupid it is to talk to someone so unknown??.........how stupid am I sounding??..............what will he think about me??

To my surprise (though I won't know if he thought my talks to be stupid or not) we were talking in the evening. He opened himself to me. And it was raining. And the trecking gave a friend to me.

Yes, so junk..................but right.

Naughty Reply

This is for all those who have been involved in something naughty or the other.

I have been naughty very recently and don't laugh. I am serious. Yes I can be naughty.

What??? Don't believe me???
Ok I will tell you what all happened.

I was in my friend's room at 11pm. Night time is always like that in hostel. And as always, she was telling about her previous hostel experiences..............rather naughtiness ;)
And that was the time when my mom called me. I took the call, there's no escape. Then how can I lie when she asked if I was in my room or not?? Lieing is a bad thing, you know.(Don't laugh)
Anyways, I somehow told the truth and the next and fearful question was "What are you doing there? Why aren't you in your room??". Hiding my fear which arose from the thought of consiquences if I tell that chatting about unimportant things, and avoiding lieing, I smartly said................"CASE STUDY".

CASE STUDY................a very important word. Serious as it sounds, still very vague and vast ;)
The word that helped me comeout of that situation..............and now don't look sarcastic. I DIDN'T lie. Sacchiii...............Case Study of my friend's story. HE HE HE HE HE HE.

Competition

Hi to all you people out there who dared to visit my Junk page.

Today, I am adding one more junk idea in the thread of previous gr8 torturous works. While I was talking to a human being(ofcourse I am not a Dolittle, so can't talk to animals), I came across a very confusing idea of his. Well, I under no circumstances call that person confusing but yes, the idea was out of my antenna's reach.

He said that itz good if there is less competition. Competition’s so called result is “survival of the fittest”. If there are less people or there is a scarcity of competitive nature, then it is good. Survival is easier……….and you might be the fittest.

This is a popular concept these days. But I choose to differ………..after all we live in a democracy.

Now what do I think??? Yes, guessed right. JUST OPPOSITE!!

It is good to have competition and that too a healthy one. Why? Competition helps one strive harder to reach a level. If you are in a class of intelligent students, and thought you don’t share the same level of intelligence but have the same competitive spirit, then your future is bright. When you step out of that class into the real world, you will realize how much good has been done by this Competition. The worst of a class might be better than the best of other classes. May be that is why one will prefer to be the backbencher of IIM over being the brightest in some new local b-school.

And about survival of fittest……………….well if not fittest, be a fit one. You will still survive. World is BIG!!

So right na??? But still………………………..JUNK!

Radio Mirchi

Few days ago, Radio Mirchi was launched at Patna. Itz 98.3 FM we are talking about. The one which is said to be HOT.........and it has acutally been a 'hot' news. Yes, people of Patna are going mad over Radio Mirchi and are buying FM-radio sets. At every pann stall, the normal trend was to listen to Vividbharti but now itz Radio Mirchi.

This new hot chilli has affected me badly. It has woken my sleeping desire to become Radio Jokey the same way how the knowledge of existance of blogs woke my desire to become a writer. Though I know I will be as flop an RJ as I am a Blog writer. But never mind, coz I don't have mind........I still wanna try my luck as RJ. Even if I don't be a successful RJ, I will be sucessful in torturing those few listeners (my ultimate goal)...........^ HA HA HA HA HA ^

But the dream is still a dream[nightmare in your version]............................hope my nalayak friends find the Radio Mirchi office soon.

The Two Arrows

In last few days, I have been thinking about writing on different issues, but one thing kept me away from it. And that one thing is making me write again today. That one thing is none other than a 249 pages long book writen by Cornelia Meigs, published in 1949 and named "The Two Arrows". I never thought that I will read such an old book. But since I have been trying to develope reading habbits, I took it not to keep it down before the last page.

The story starts in England and goes beyond the sea to America, generally refered as "the new world". That was the time when America was under British Rule. The story is about two brothers from England who had been convicted of loose talk about the then King and sent to Maryland in America, as was the rule for such crimes. The elder one was a skilled builder amd the younger one, a 13 yr. old kid. The two were bought as bound servents by a rich man of the land who wanted to own the most beautiful house in Maryland. The story didn't concentrate on the elder one or the master of the duo, but on the younger one. The way events happened about him was the content of the book. You may say that the 13 yr. old lad was the Hero.

No I don't intende to tell u the whole story, not even the half one. But I have words for the way story progressed. Before this book, I read a few good stories, specially detective ones, which had clues as to what to expect later. If the reader is alert to pick up these clues, then guessing of what to expect next is very easy. I admire how the different known authors have mastered this skill. In "The Two Arrows", these things were taken good care of and the author succeeded in keeping the interest alive till the end with suspense and quick but interesting events.

Besides all this, the author discribed the beauty of nature and of carved buildings of Noble men with great efficiency. Though, for those who are not aware of the good old days of London or the American land and sea, few paragraphs could seem like just the words passing meaninglessly and boringly. Thanks God, I was able to picturize it..............may be because of the British Movies on Star Movies and HBO.

I am not sure but there might be a Hollywood movie made on it. This book is worth making a movie in my opinion.

At last, I would like to say that if incase you get your hands on it, do read it. And decide for yourself if you like it or not??

Indian Cricket Team

Everybody is talking about our Cricket team and the way they performed in this World Cup. I am no exception.....I have been talking about it alot, infront of many people. One of them asked me to write something in my blog. And this is the reason why I am write this second post in the same day.

You all have seen what happened against Bangladesh and Shri Lanka..........pethatic performance. Don't take the world record mach against Bermuda to be a better one. How did they manage to bat for more than 40 overs???

At the match against Bangladesh, while watching the hattrick of duck scores, I remembered the portion from the movie 'Hattrick' where the hero goes on wishing that Dhoni gets out on a duck in every match. Why do the dialogue writter has to put something like this? Or why do Dhoni have to be so desparate to make that comment so true?

Sachin's advertisement of Boost is the secret of my energy and Harr ghar main Sachin is still on TV. God knows what parents think about those products right now. They would better let their children eat eggs so that the little ones become stronger than Sachin. Sehwag's Maa ka aashirwaad worked only against Bermuda in true sense. Well they were the only soft target! Recently I another ad. where Dravid was shouting "out out out out out" and the small kid sticked something on his mouth. How symbolic of Bolti Band.

Few people said that they shouldn't have been allowed to take their wives on the tour. I disagree!! It was a good move to prevent many things....like overboosing and going behind some blond on the carabian beaches. Infact, I feel that now they must be recieving some lessons with jhaaru and balen at home. Afterall Indian wives can't see their hubby fail so badly!!!

Well I hope that all Hu Haa India needs to cool down now. Now even THE BCCI has come into action finally! Some serious consideration must be done now. I hope Chappell gets some real chappal before going to his country. And this time, the coach needs to be an Indian. Froeign coaches might know the game well but they don't know the Indians well enough. Only an Indian can know another Indian's heart and urge to win. As for the foreign councellors who had been employeed for boosting our players' moral must be fired immidiatly. They have already done alot of damage. We do not need the professionalism in our players. They are better off if they play with the whole of their hearts. After all they have done it in past when they won so many matches on the verge of loosing. As far as the latest technology is considered, Indians are the best brains in the business. We should higher Indian professionals, with some foreign training.

As far as captaincy is considered, now that I've seen Rahul's captaincy, I suppose I personally find Ganguly a better captain than Drivid. I don't know if you all did notice or not, the feild setting was pathetic. It deprived our ballers the wickets they deserved. Someone said to me that Dravid was a nervous captain. I don't know if he was nervous or not, he defenitly failed on and off the field. He wasn't able to pull the team together. When Dada was thrown out of the team, one of the reasons given was he said something to one and other thing to another. May be he did something like that but if that helps the game, lets players come together and doesn't let the arguments ruin the performance, then I think itz good. Thatz what captain is suppose to do. Still that's something I feel, my personal opinion.

At last, I think we need someone who could re-energize our players. Those boys need encouragement and appriciation and not regection as the Indian fans given after this kindaa performance. It's not just one or two players performing badly, there is something seriously wrong with the team and the guys need some help. There should be atleast someone in the team like Ajay Jadeja(if not him as a player or member of coaching squard) who can bring the falling shoulders up, make everyone around genuinely happy and never say die even when it seems that the match is lost. That is badly needed right now.

May be a bit of fixing in favour of India ;) .............just kidding!

A movie with Friends

Hi, itz me again.
I know I know........u were expecting me only.

A few days back, rather few weeks back, I went to watch a movie with V J. Now don't start thinking that any of my friends is Vedio Jocky. I am just using the initial letters of the guy's and the gal's name. They are good friends of mine. We went to watch 'Just Married'..........though none of us had been just married (my mom was objecting on this point). Anyways, we went there and V payed for the tickets........he he he he......poor guy, he was expecting me to pay. We were just waiting outside the movie hall for my dad to come and take some documents of official use from me. At that time, a girl of 6 or 7 came to beg......u know, itz not always that u need to visit temple or railway station to find them. So, being good I gave her a coin. I saw her leave and talk to another of her age. Then that other one came and started to beg. First we said that we have given her friend and now she shouldn't come to us, but when she was pulling V's shirt, I gave her a 50 paise coin(luckly I got a few from Metro when I was at Delhi). To our surprise, she didn't leave and started touching V's feet. It was hilarious to see V jumping from one leg to another. He was literally running with that little girl behind him. So, ultimatly I came to his rescue and gave him another 50 paise coin to surrender to that girl.

You must be thinking why I ain't mentioning J? Well she didn't get involve in any of such comedy but J had to pay for the snaks in the name of the treat(AGAIN!!).

Well I end this post here itself, rest in other one. But before I say goodbye, I just want to thank Mr. Santosh for his appreciation and encouragement in the first comment I ever recieved for my posts. I am happy to get one, but I have to clarify one thing, I am not a Navodyaan. Oops!!

Does that Hurt?

Hi bloggers!

Don't be missguided, I am not talking about the hurt from the defeat of Indian Team. I am not going to talk about how Bangladeshi batting order thrashed Indian experianced balling to boundries penitrating the fielding fences that our team built....or may be illusioned to build.

What I am going to talk is something completely different. It is really about the real hurt one comes across in his or her life. There are people in this world who have been decieved, in many different ways. Some at share market, some at ordinary market and some at world's fish-market. Then there are people who have suffered loss, business loss and personal loss. There are also those who have got hearts broken by the people they loved. They are different people, from different walks of life and with different accounts of experiances but the one thing they have in common, apart from being human beings, is that they all are hurt. Emotionally, they feel the pain. Some of them cry, some of them yell, some cause disaster, some plot revenge and some do crazy things. But there are also few of those who take it, keep it to themselves, and forgive that one person who hurt them.

Yes thatz true, they say nothing atall. Generally they are those who have been hurt by the person who is very close to their heart. They feel, this person is my parent/relative/spouse/friend and this hurt won't make my feeling bitter for that person and I will continue to think good for him or her.

Well that is done by almost everyone at some point of time in the long life we don't even remember day by day. What about the person who hurts??? Doesn he or she realise it? Realise the love they are blessed to have?

Hmm.........something to think about. If they are asked about why they hurt the one person who is always thinking about doing something good, they will simply say "Coz I want that person to improve. I want him or her to know how cruel the world is and how nobody can be trusted with their emotions. I just wanted to teach that he or she is all alone in this world and nobody will turn to help him or her." That reminds me of a memory from my childhood. I was very small.....wasn't as tall as I am today. Just 3 or 4 yrs. old. I was wiser then. And I was on that huge dinning table which now looks so small. And my bhaiya was asking me to jump. I was afraid. He said that he will hold me as I jump. So I jumped and fell and was hurt. I looked at him in somewhat anger demanding an explanation. He just missed getting me. It wasn't intentional but to look wiser and to hide his fault he said "I wanted to teach you that never trust anyone or you will get hurt."

Some of you will say "Oh.....how true! You got the lesson at such a tender age. You must have been spared of all the hurts." To your disappointment, I never learnt it. I am still the same person who follows heart more than head in the case of near and dear ones. And trust me, I am not alone. There are many who won't show their hurt because they don't want to hurt their loved ones by showing that they are hurt. Does that hurt?

Not at all!!

Surprised??? Follow it and you will come to know why it doesn't hurt. It is never a theory but only practical. Just try it!

Junk for some but right for all................ ;)
